Empowering Girls to Lead: Advocacy Day 2026 with Cummins Inc.
Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis kicked off its fifth annual Advocacy Day with Cummins Inc. on February 17, 2026. The event brought girls from across Girls Inc. Indiana affiliates together for a powerful experience rooted in leadership, civic engagement, and using their voices with confidence.
The day began at Cummins Inc., where Carole Casto, Carolyn Butler-Lee, Diana Rey-Marrero, Jose Samperio, and Alison Trueblood shared their leadership journeys and insights on advocacy, education, and championing opportunities for women and girls.
At the Indiana Statehouse, Chief Judge of the Indiana Court of Appeals Elizabeth Tavitas inspired our girls to see themselves in spaces of law and justice. The girls then met with the legislators who represent their own communities, speaking up about the issues that matter most to them and experiencing the power of civic engagement firsthand.
Thank you to Lawrence McCormack, Parul Malik, Allison Kley, Olivia Scott, Tonya Sisco, and the entire Cummins Inc. team for their partnership in making this day possible, and to Chief Judge Tavitas and our state legislators for investing their time in the next generation of strong, smart, and bold leaders.
