INDIANAPOLIS – The Pacers Foundation and the Lilly Foundation will continue their commitment to building fundamental math and social-emotional skills in K-12 students this summer. Thanks to strategic partnerships with non-profit partners, NBA Math Hoops will now be offered year-round to youth enrolled in summer programs once the school year ends.

Learn Fresh will play a key role in training a significant number of leaders and program staff at Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, The City League, and Boner Fitness & Learning Center. Program staff will be provided with a tailored curriculum to follow and training experience that will allow them to seamlessly integrate NBA Math Hoops into their respective summer programs.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with Learn Fresh in the execution of NBA Math Hoops this summer, which aligns perfectly with the Pacers Foundation mission to empower young people through partnerships addressing equity and justice in education, health & safety,” said Corey Wilson, Vice President of Community Engagement of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and the Executive Director of the Pacers Foundation.

The NBA Math Hoops program is a dynamic experience that features digital and physical games, classroom/after school curricula, and community events that allow students and educators to explore fundamental STEM and social-emotional skills through the game of basketball. Initially developed in the classroom of a math educator, the program has scaled to engage over 950,000 students nationwide and has demonstrated success over time in improving outcomes in cities where it has been implemented through schools and community organizations.

This summer, the NBA Math Hoops program will offer participants opportunities to engage with the Indiana Fever and The City League through a variety of community events, activations, and opportunities. Program materials, resources, incentives, and support for PS&E NBA Math Hoops are provided by our partnership with the Lilly Foundation. All schools and youth serving non-profits enrolled in the program will receive these resources and opportunities free of charge.
