Touchstone spotlight 1

Today’s our Touchstone Awards Luncheon! Our Touchstone Awards Luncheon is our biggest fundraiser of the year, which is probably why you’ve been seeing and hearing a lot about it on our social media pages and website. We’re so excited to be able to honor and introduce to you four amazing women from our Indianapolis community, who have exceeded the characteristics of a strong, smart, and bold woman: Anita Harden, Cindy Hubert, Donna M. Oklak and Elaine Bedel.

We would also like to recognize our chairwoman, Maria Quintana, who was a previous Touchstone Honoree in 2015! Today the honorees will receive the Touchstone Award, and recognition for their outstanding work and community involvement. All of these women are who Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis has chosen as this year’s role models for the Indy girls we serve through our after-school programs, summer camp, Girls Inc. Day, and other activities!

This year is our 29th Touchstone Awards Luncheon, and Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis has honored some of the most influential women in the Greater Indianapolis area with a Touchstone Award over the last 29 years. A touchstone was a black siliceous stone formerly used to test the purity of gold and silver. Girls Inc. annually recognizes female leaders with the Touchstone Award to symbolize our appreciation for their astounding contributions to the Indianapolis community.

Before the awards ceremony and lunch begin, our Girls Inc. summer campers will be presenting exhibits to you and all of the other guests. These exhibits show what Girls Inc. is all about, and what the girls have learned from programs, camp, and other Girls Inc. activities! The girls are always really excited to show off their exhibits and what makes them Strong, Smart, and Bold.
We can’t wait to see you there!
