With the start of the new year, the Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis board of directors is pleased to welcome five newly elected members who are beginning three-year terms and an intern:

Lori Ball

Lori is Chief Operating Officer at BioStorage Technologies, Inc., with a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She brings experience in education, marketing and project management with her to the board.

Vicki Bohlsen

Vicki is Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Bohlsen Group, a Public Relations Firm. As a member of Public Relations Society of America and an Advisory Council Member on the Ball State University PR Council, Vicki brings a plethora of communication skills with her to the board. Also, as sole owner of Bohlsen group, Vicki has skills in organizational management and strategic planning.

Andrea Farmer

Andrea is Senior Account Director at Borshoff, a public relations firm, with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. She brings skills in board member recruitment, marketing, public relations and event planning to the board.

Jeanne Fuqua

Jeanne is majority owner and President of C.H. Barnett Construction, LLC., with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis on International Politics and Business administration. She also has a Certified Degree in Peace Studies from the University of Akron. Jeanne’s unique educational background brings several different perspectives to the board.

Lisa Sorenson

Lisa is Director of Accreditation and Surveys at IU Health. She actively participates in United Way and IU Health community service events. Lisa brings skills in organizational management, human relations and risk management with her to the board.

Victoria Calhoon

Victoria will join us as a United Way of Central Indiana board intern in 2015. Victoria is currently an associate at Faegre Baker Daniels and brings a background in law with her to the board.

On our executive committee, Linda Hicks will serve as board chair, Lisa Orr as 1st vice chair and Courtney Brown as 2nd vice chair. Lori Torres will change roles to serve as secretary and Mandy Parris will continue as treasurer. Finally, Ellen Humphrey will serve as the new governance chair and new board member, Jeanne Fuqua, will serve as the development chair.
