Girls build self-confidence, make friends, and travel the city in 2010 summer camp
Participants in the 2010 Girls Inc. day camp packed in fun, hands on activities, empowering programs, and weekly field trips to complete yet another successful Strong, Smart, Bold, and Inspired summer camp!
Each session was themed according to our mission. In Strong Girls, campers documented their own herstory and marched for women’s rights. Smart Girls created businesses for the Economic Literacy carnival and visited Franklin College to experience life on campus. Girls in the Bold camp mastered basic self-defense skills and created original female superheroes. Finally, Inspired Girls learned words in a foreign language and shared their talents in a camp talent show.
Other highlights of the seven-week camp included a visit to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, attending an Indiana Fever game, and enjoying the sunshine during weekly swimming trips!
A girl attending all seven weeks of camp participated in at least 20 Girls Inc. programs. Because of the array and depth of programming these girls experienced, Girls Inc. saw a true picture of what “Girls Inc. girls” look like.
