As a board member, United Way Torchbearer, and girl advocate, we knew Mandy Parris was committed to our Girls Inc. mission. In January, we were thrilled to hear that JPMorgan Chase recognized Parris with their second annual Good Works Volunteer of the Year Award. This award honored Parris’ involvement with Girls Inc. and her commitment to serving the community.
“I am honored to be recognized by Chase, and humbled because I know that so many of my colleagues give selflessly of their time as well,” said Parris.
As the award winner, Parris dedicated $500 to Girls Inc., the charity of her choice, from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation. “I’m grateful to work for an organization that values giving back to the community,” said Parris. “Not only does Chase donate as an organization, but we are encouraged as employees to both volunteer and to give financially.”
“When Mandy joined us as a Leadership United Board Intern, we recognized her heart for helping girls, and we were delighted when she agreed to join our Board of Directors” said Girls Inc. President and CEO, Pat Wachtel. “This year, Mandy is part of our Executive Committee, and even more deeply involved in leadership. It is wonderful to see Mandy recognized by Chase for her volunteer work because she is so very deserving of the honor.”
“I volunteer to make an impact,” said Parris. “Nothing feels better than to see a child smile and know that you have made a difference in their day.“
Many thanks to JPMorgan Chase for supporting volunteerism and for allowing Parris to recognize Girls Inc. through this grant!
