Winter has come to Girls Inc., not because of the snow or dropped temperatures, but because girls throughout greater Indianapolis began Redefining Beauty, She’s on the Money®, and Action for Safety® programs.
Over the next couple of months, girls will discover what it means to be a good friend, determine how to make healthy choices, learn to manage money, and more in the 74 Girls Inc. programs offered in 44 schools and community centers.
Here’s a preview of what winter holds:
- 79 volunteers will facilitate programs. A special welcome to the 49 new volunteers this winter!
- 7 new locations will offer Girls Inc. programs – William McKinley IPS #39, John Marshall Community High School, George W. Julian IPS #57, Paramount School of Excellence, Skiles Test Elementary, KIPP Indy College Prep, and James Whitcomb Riley IPS #43.
- 3 groups, Women of WellPoint (WOW), American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), and IU Medical School (IUSOM) will share their careers with girls in Lunch Bunch programs.
- Work It Out remains the most popular program with 28 offered this winter. Other popular programs include Action for Safety, Redefining Beauty, and Equal Earners, Savvy Spenders®.
