Today we will host our 2018 Touchstone Awards Luncheon!

The Touchstone Awards honors four influential women in our community who exemplify our strong, smart, bold mission and inspire future generations of female leaders. These honorees have made milestones in their careers and communities. The luncheon is also a chance for girls in our summer camp program to show off what they’ve learned at camp in our exhibit hall.

This year we honor Melody Birmingham-Byrd, Jacqueline Simmons, Deborah Hearn Smith, and Patricia Wachtel. Birmingham-Byrd is president of Duke Energy Indiana and is committed to many other boards of directors in the community. Simmons is Indiana University’s Vice President and General Counsel who has been recognized time and again for her work in the legal field. Hearn Smith is the retired President & CEO of Girl Scouts of Central Indiana. Patricia Wachtel is the retired President & CEO of our very own affiliate of Girls Inc., and inspired girls to be strong, smart, and bold for over 11 years.

The Touchstone Awards Luncheon is our largest fundraising event of the year. The funds raised at the luncheon through our generous sponsors and attendees will go towards middle and high school programming for the 2018-2019 school year.

Our $30,000 fundraising goal will allow us to provide 10 additional programs and serve over 120 new girls this upcoming school year.

If you are unable to attend the luncheon but still want to make a contribution, you can easily donate by texting “TOUCHSTONE” to 1-844-544-7171. You’ll receive a text with a link to our online donation page!

Thank you to everyone who has made this event possible!
