New Supplies, Curricula, and Bags, Oh My!
Christy Barlow, director of programs

Girls Inc. begins fall program cycle on October 4

New bags for program materials! To an outsider, the Girls Inc. training rooms in September looked like a make-shift warehouse for school supplies. To our staff, it looked like the start of the fall program cycle!

Program Material Blitz happens four times a year at Girls Inc. The “blitz” is a time when staff sort and pack all of the supplies for a program cycle, which are then distributed to our volunteers. This cycle, we were fortunate to have many new components to the process:

  • New messenger bags - For most programs, our new Girls Inc. messenger bags took the place of bulky storage tubs. These smaller bags make traveling with supplies easier and more convenient for our volunteer facilitators.
  • Ms. Sarah organizes the new curricula!Lots of new supplies - Thanks to the BackPack Attack program, Girls Inc. received free program supplies, including lined paper, scissors, and glue sticks.
  • Brand-new, hot-off the press curricula - With an easier to follow format and updated activities, our programs will be better than ever.

With 68 programs starting the week of October 4, we are excited to use all of our new “stuff.” To learn more about our programs or become a volunteer facilitator, please visit  www.girlsincindy.org.
