Meet a Girls Inc. Volunteer - Erica Broadus
Mollie Hicks, Volunteer Engagement Specialist

Erica Broadus
Multi-Program Facilitator

Best Part of Facilitating a Program
“My favorite session was in Dollars, Cents and Me, when we discussed supply and demand.  Initially, I thought it would be too challenging of a concept for the girls, ages 9 – 11, but they quickly proved me wrong!  The girls learned valuable economic tools and I learned just how smart these girls really were!”

Benefit of Girls Inc. for the Girls
“Today’s world is fast-paced and our girls are faced with challenges like never before (e.g., divorce, teen pregnancy, and high school drop-out rates).  My belief is that self esteem is the foundation of accomplishing one’s goals.  Girls Inc. helps to facilitate just that.”

Life Experiences Helped Prepare Facilitation
“As a ‘former girl’ I remember how challenging that time can be.  However, I also realize that today’s girls live in a different, more fast-paced world.  It’s important for them to realize that people care about them, their futures, and the unique challenges they face.”
