Sometimes I wonder if “thank you” has lost all meaning. Like saying “I love you” to your spouse or kids before you walk out the door or hang up the phone, “thank you” has become a habit to me. In the course of one dinner out, I might thank the server 10 times. I thank my team members after a meeting. I thank my dogs for planting a kiss on my check. In the course of one day, I might say “thank you” nearly a hundred times.
Yet as a fundraiser, I’m always looking for a new way to say those two simple words. Because when I think of our donors, “thank you” just isn’t enough.
I was thrilled last year when our board members agreed to make a video thanking all the people who make Girls Inc. possible. It was a new way to show our gratitude. While the video is nearly 12 months old now, the message is the same.
Thank you for helping us to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold!
