Our school programs provide subject matter enrichment, cultivate critical thinking, and challenge girls, ages 6-18 to envision a successful future. We are pleased to partner with public, private, and charter schools throughout Marion, Hamilton, Hendricks and Boone counties. We offer flexible school-day scheduling as well as after school programming.

Brownsburg school offers first Girls Inc. program in Hendricks County!
At Brownsburg West Middle School, a class of 12-14 year olds participated in a Work It Out program, the first Girls Inc. program ever delivered in Hendricks County. This program realizes a goal Girls Inc. set for expansion into Hendricks County in 2009. Activities during the six-session program help girls build empathy towards others while challenging them to understand the consequences of hurtful behavior. In particular, the 12-14 year olds created a vision for positive interaction with other females, reflected on experiences through conflict scenarios, analyzed the messages they receive about relationships, and learned to de-escalate anger or frustration.
Program specialist Myranda Warden commented, “Our biggest success was that this was a combination of girls who wouldn’t normally interact, yet they connected on a personal level.” Cadence, 12, agreed: “This group was really good because we could talk about a wide range of issues together.” This Girls Inc. program gave the students the opportunity to befriend each other instead of seeing each other as adversaries.
Girls Inc. announces new collaboration with The Marion County Council of PTAs!
Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with The Marion County Council of PTAs in 2010! The Marion County Council of PTAs, a group that oversees all school-based PTA groups in Marion County schools, has asked Girls Inc. to deliver programs to parents and girls at two of their member schools. A break from our traditional partnership type, Girls Inc. will not only deliver programs to girls as part of the school day but we will also come in and deliver complementary programs for parents during their PTA meeting. This method will not only benefit girls with our positive messages about self-esteem and body image but will also benefit parents with take-home tools to facilitate continued conversations with their girls at home. This partnership will be piloted beginning in January at Brookview Elementary School and Francis W. Parker Montessori School, IPS 56.
