Girls Inc. Economic Literacy

Did you know…?

Female-headed households are more than twice as likely as other US households to be poor (Bread for the World, “Hunger and Poverty in Female-Headed Households,” 2016).

In a 2015 survey of Marion County, women ages 25-34 were the largest demographic living in poverty, followed closely by women ages 18-24 (Data USA, “Marion County, IN,” 2015).

Through exploring a wide range of financial issues, Economic Literacy builds self-reliance for girls as they embrace the knowledge that they are in control of their financial future.
