Meet Our 2013 Touchstone Awards Honorees! 

Joyce Rogers, a 2013 Touchstone Awards HonoreeJoyce Rogers serves as Vice President of Development for Ivy Tech Community College, the nation’s largest statewide community college system with a single accreditation.  At times topping the nations list of community colleges in private giving, the Ivy Tech Foundation has almost tripled its total assets over the last five years.  Prior to joining Ivy Tech, Rogers was the first woman to serve as the Indiana Black Expo President and CEO.  Her passion for service and service delivery remains in the forefront of everything she still does today.  Joyce has served on many boards and organizations including Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, Indiana State University Trustee, Bowen Foundation, United Way of Central Indiana, Goodwill Industry Foundation, The Mind Trust, Dress for Success, Indiana Fever Advisory Committee, Greater Indianapolis Project Committee (GIPC), and WFYI Board to name a few. 

Joanna Taft, a 2013 Touchstone Awards Honoree

Joanna Taft is best known for using her entrepreneurial skills to build community in diverse settings—government, corporate, non-profit, and grassroots community-based organizations. She began her career working with two presidentially appointed Boards in Washington, DC. Taft relocated with her Hoosier-husband to Indiana where she discovered comprehensive community development and found it combined her personal interests in historic neighborhoods, urban areas, and her entrepreneurial abilities. Most significant accomplishments include: serving as Founding Executive Director of the Harrison Center for the Arts, a leader in grassroots cultural development; Founder and Board Chair of Herron High School, a nationally ranked charter school, creating the Cultural Entrepreneur Initiative training high school and college students to build culture in the city, and Founder of the City Gallery, a resource café for creative place-making. She also serves on the boards of the Indianapolis Library Foundation, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis’ Spirit and Place Festival, Marion County Board of Zoning Appeals (Chair), the Oaks Academy, and the Indiana Association for Community and Economic Development.

Susan Williams, a 2013 Touchstone Awards honoreeSusan Williams moved into the role of volunteer civic leader in September 2012.  Her professional career culminated when she retired as President of the Indiana Sports Corporation.  During her tenure at the helm of ISC, Indianapolis was awarded a five year commitment to host the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Tournaments, the 2008 Olympic Diving Trials, 2012 Super Bowl, 2015 Men’s Final Four, and 2016 Women’s Final Four. Prior to her role at ISC, Williams was appointed by Governor Frank O’Bannon to serve as Executive Director of the Indiana State Office Building Commission, where she oversaw the design and construction of the NCAA headquarters and Hall of Champions, the Indiana State Museum and other projects throughout the State of Indiana. She served on the Indianapolis-Marion County City-County Council from 1985-2000. Williams currently serves on the boards of the Indianapolis Arts Council, the Massachusetts Avenue Community Development Corporation, the Indiana State Museum, the Board of Trustees of Franklin College and is a mayoral appointee to the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission.

Jean Wojtowicz, a 2013 Touchstone Awards HonoreeJean Wojtowicz founded Cambridge Capital Management Corp. in 1983 and currently serves as its President.  Cambridge is a manager of non-traditional sources of capital for businesses and has provided more than $494 million to over 1,300 Indiana businesses.  Cambridge currently manages the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation, Indiana Community Business Credit Corporation, LYNX Capital Corporation, and serves as the general partner for Cambridge Ventures, LP.  She currently serves on the corporate boards of Vectren Corporation, First Merchants Bank, First Internet Bank, and American United Mutual Insurance Holding Company.  Wojtowicz serves on many community Boards including Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana, the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, and the Indianapolis Airport Authority.
