Bequests and Planned Giving
Planned giving can help you make a difference in our community in a way you may have never considered before. It also has other advantages, such as tax-benefits, the ability to receive a lifetime income, and the chance to give in the future while still providing for dependents. Before you make any kind of planned gift, Girls Inc. encourages you to speak with your own financial advisor.
Bequests are the simplest kind of planned gift! Bequests are a transfer of funds that includes transfers through wills and through trusts. Donors who are considering leaving a bequest to Girls Inc. may use the following language:
“I give, devise and bequeath to Girls Incorporated of Greater Indianapolis, a not-for-profit organization located in Indianapolis, ____(dollars or percentage of my estate) to be used for the benefit of the organization (at the organization’s discretion or as specified in a gift agreement on file at the organization).”
So that we may appropriately recognize you for your generous gifts, Girls Inc. requests that you inform us of your decision to make a planned gift.
Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis can work with your financial advisor to find the best gift option for you. There are many opportunities to contribute. Contact Lee Ann Jourdan, vice president of development and public relations, at 317.522.2603, to discuss in-kind donations, planned giving opportunities, or other ways to support Girls Inc.
