Join Girls Inc. at the “Lighting the Way: Empowering Tomorrow’s Champions” Touchstone Awards as we honor Myrta J. Pulliam as a 2012 honoree! Pulliam is one of four outstanding women in the greater Indianapolis community to be honored at the July 12 Touchstone Awards luncheon.
Director of Special Projects at Star Media, Myrta Pulliam has a long history with The Indianapolis Star. After working numerous beats, Pulliam spearheaded the company’s first venture into providing web-based content to consumers, one of the few women in the online field at the time. Pulliam is a founder of the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) and won a Pulitzer Prize in 1975 as an investigative team for stories on police corruption. Now as Director of Special Projects, she combines her passion for news and community by overseeing the Season for Sharing and Star Charities program.
Pulliam has served on the boards of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Zoo, the Central Indiana Community Foundation, the Cultural Trail, the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, DePauw University and Queens University of Charlotte, and as chair of the Indianapolis Prize.
Celebrate the achievements of Myrta Pulliam, Rabbi Sandy Eisenberg Sasso, Dr. Dungy-Poythress, and Deborah Daniels at the 2012 Touchstone Awards luncheon on Thursday, July 12, at the JW Marriott. Sponsorship opportunities are available today and ticket information will be announced in our June enewsletter as we highlight Rabbi Sandy Eisenberg Sasso!
