Girls to Build Robots on May 5

Science, technology, engineering, and math will come alive on Saturday, May 5, for the 2012 Girls Inc. Day at Children's Bureau, Inc. Girls ages 8-14 will develop their engineering skills, explore design and construction, and test their creative thinking and teamwork during the "Creating My Bold Future" Girls Inc. Day.

Girls will start the day at 9 a.m. with an activity led by the Cyber Blue Robotics team from Perry Meridian High School. But the fun isn't only for the girls; volunteers will lead a Lunch Bunch program to help girls explore innovative careers in science, math, and engineering, and then will participate with groups of girls as they build robots from common office supplies. Pick-up is at 3:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Dow AgroScience.
