BackPack Attack program provides school supplies for Girls Inc. fall programs
Every year, United Way of Central Indiana provides a significant amount of support to Girls Inc. This funding helps us continue to provide programs that inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and boldSM. To date in 2010, funding from United Way has helped us provide programs to 1,921 girls!
This year, United Way also supported Girls Inc. through the BackPack Attack program, a collaboration of The Children’s Museum, Indiana Members Credit Union, IPS, IUPUI, United Way of Central Indiana, UPS, and YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. Since 1999, BackPack Attack has been providing school supplies to children who cannot afford them. This year, BackPack Attack was able to distribute more than 16,000 backpacks to children in Central Indiana. BackPack Attack generously donated school supplies to Girls Inc., including glue sticks, scissors, paper, notebooks, and more, valued at more than $3,700!
