Patricia Wachtel, President & CEO
Patricia Wachtel is President and CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis and has led the organization through transition from a club-based operation to a collaborative outreach model of program delivery that has dramatically increased service to girls. With the help of more than 300 volunteers, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis provided more than 6,900 inspiring and empowering program opportunities for 3,709 girls during 2015. Programs were hosted by 97 community partners including 80 schools. In the past three years, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis has consistently been one of the top three affiliates of its national organization based on the number of girls served. In 2016, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis is entering into a collaborative program relationship with the other six Girls Inc. affiliates in Indiana that will provide additional program options for girls in their communities.
Pat previously had a 28-year career in commercial banking and corporate philanthropy. She has chaired and served on numerous community boards of directors. Most recently, Pat was a member of the Steering Committee of the United Way Agency Executive Council. She previously served as the Council Chair and as a member of the UWCI Board of Directors. Pat holds a B. S. in Business Administration from Butler University and an M.B.A. from Indiana University.
Under Pat’s leadership, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis has won two Indiana Achievement Awards for efficiency and effectiveness in 2008 and 2011. Pat has also been honored with an IBJ Women of Influence Award in 2011; a Torchbearer Award from the Indiana Commission for Women in 2009; a Trailblazer Award from the Central Indiana Realtist Association in 2014, and a Lifetime Achievement Pass the Torch Award from Mentoring Women’s Network in 2015.
