Touchstone spotlight 1

Our 2017 Touchstone Awards Luncheon is right around the corner! On July 6, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis will be honoring four strong, smart, and bold women who have worked hard contributing to the community: Elaine Bedel, Anita Harden, Cindy Hubert, and Donna Oklak. Each of these women have proven to be an awesome female leader in the Indy area and we are proud to offer them the Touchstone Award.

Every year since 1988, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis has honored some of the most influential women in our community with a Touchstone Award. But what does that even mean? A touchstone was a black, siliceous stone formerly used to test the purity of gold and silver. The women who receive a Touchstone Award at our fundraiser are comparable to gold or precious metals, because they utilize hard work and extra efforts to contribute to a better Indianapolis. Girls Inc. recognizes female leaders with the Touchstone Award to symbolize our appreciation for their astounding contributions to our community.

Our Touchstone Awards fundraiser allows us to recognize these women for their outstanding achievements and commitment to our community in front of over 500 guests. These guests include nearly 80 summer camp girls that are seeking opportunities to connect and learn from visible, local role-models that look just like them. Each year, our Touchstone Honorees represent the type of leaders that our girls are striving to become.

Our Touchstone Awards fundraiser will take place on July 6th from 11 AM to 1 PM at the JW Marriott in the White River Ballroom. Before the awards program begins, there will be girls ready to talk to you about their exhibit showcases. Following the girl exhibit showcases will be lunch, and lunch will be followed by the awards program! Tickets can be purchased here. Ticket sales not only honor the exceptional women we’ve chosen as our Honorees, but provide girls in the Indy area with life-changing programs that empower them to be healthy, educated, and independent.
If you are unable to attend, please make a donation to help us provide intentional programs that help inspire the next generation of female leaders!

Thank you to all of our amazing sponsors!
